Why Storytelling?

Any account of the human experience has the power to evoke empathy, inspire action, and encourage progress. At Undivided we hope that by sharing stories, we can diminish separatism, build community and make steps toward a more unified future where women have a voice in global peace negotiation.

About Undivided

Undivided is amplifying women’s stories of war, and highlighting their diverse roles and experiences in conflict zones. Our goal is to educate, to inspire, and ultimately to encourage women to become more involved, empowered and vocal during times of war, peace and security efforts. Undivided is a non-political organization.

We are working to fulfill our mission through five strategies:

1. Amplifying Voices: Of women who have lived through war and conflict via our website and social media.

2. Telling Stories: Via documentaries, short form exposés, and interviews.

3. Teaching Storytelling: Providing storytelling workshops for women around the world who have experienced war.

4. Hiring Women Journalists Around the World: We hire women to tell other women’s stories.

5. Creating a Community:  Creating an on-line community for women in conflict zones by connecting them and their stories throughout the world. This includes nonprofit leaders, scholars and government officials working in the field of women, war, peace and security. The goal: To identify collective actions that will give women an equal role in ending conflict.
